The guys over at Spitfire Audio offers you a wide variety of quality freebie VST instruments to download for absolutely free. In order to download them, You'll need to first install their own client, followed by the VST instruments themselves.

Charango - an Andean guitar-like instrument.
Electric Piano - It sounds better than any free VST out there.
Amplified Cello Quartet - Exactly that
Drums - Dry drumkit. Nothing out of the ordinary but hey, It's free!
Strings - 14 of London's best string players. Very cinematic!
Soft Piano - As titled, Very soft/soothing. Ideal for emotional and cinematic.

VST Drums

What i liked about this free VST drum plugin was that it's able to play 16 and 24 bit sounds and that it comes in two versions, one light-weight (1 Mb).dll version and another 25 Mb msi file. The reason why it's bigger is simply because you get a drum sound library with it. (250 drumsamples!) This will come in handy if you use fruityloops for example, since FL's standard sound library pretty much sucks so it's a perfect and free way to step your game up a little. If you're planning to use your own sounds i'd suggest to download the lighter version.

Load an open hihat into channel 13+14. It will play as closed, foot and open hihat

Installing Drumatic 3

once downloaded, locate your VST plugins folder.
(Usually c://windows/program/steinberg/plugins)

Once there, create a folder called Drumatic3 and unzip everything into that folder.
This Plugin contains presets (all the sounds) that needs to be located with the .dll file in order to work.
